COSMONAUT is a multi-genre theatre performance realized through physical and object theatre, sound installation and radio-theatre. It restores the failed flight of the spacecraft “Soyuz-1” in 1967, during which the Russian cosmonaut Vladimir Komarov died. Komarov was a Soviet military pilot, astronaut and engineer. One of the most experienced and qualified members of the first group of Soviet cosmonauts. He was the first man to go to space twice, and also the first killed during space flight. Valentina Komarova was Vladimir’s wife. They married in 1950 and had two children: Eugene and Irina.

COSMONAUT gathers together five independent working artists – the director Anna Dankova, the playwright ghostdog, the dancer Iva Sveshtarova, the visual artist Stanimir Genov and the band Pistamachina. Each one of them has a unique presence on the Bulgarian experimental independent stage.
