Heiner Goebbels – Composer, Director and Professor for Artistic Practise at the Institute for Applied Theatre Studies at Justus Liebig University Gießen – discusses aesthetical strategies in contemporary performances and music theatre productions, which more and more leave the centre empty so to speak. Instead of the theatre’s basic assumptions ‘presence and intensity’ for the performers, he is reflecting the notion of ‘drama’ – shifting from being a drama between representative figures on stage towards a drama of the elements, a drama of the perception by the spectator.
With sound and videoexcerpts of his productions “Max Black”, “Stifters Dinge”, “Eraritjaritjaka” “De Materie and others.
